Richton's New Playground- Our wait is finally over! (Click the title to hear more about our playground and see additional pictures)
Richton Square was awarded a state grant of $100,000 in late summer for the installation of a new playground. The children eagerly watched on a daily basis as the new playground began to take form in late August. Daily the children would ask their teachers and Mrs. Parham when the park would be ready for them to play on it, and how they couldn’t wait to play at the park.
On Thursday, September 20th a beautiful sunny warm fall day their wait was finally over. Mrs. Parham, Ms. Yvonne Williams (Chief Officer of Special Education), the teachers and children all counted down together (5…4…3…2…1) and watched Dr. Davis (Superintendent) cut the ribbon. She opened the doors and allowed them access for the first time to their new playground/park. We all had lots of fun, laughter, and joy watching the children excitedly explore and play on their new playground.
