READ ACROSS AMERICA - RICHTON SQUARE'S LET'S READ!

On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, it was National Read Across America Day. Richton Square provided all students with new books and pajamas in celebration of 'Read Across America'. Read Across America is a reading program designed to engage students in reading books, which plays a role in cultivating a love for reading. Parents submitted photos of them reading bedtime stories with their children to be displayed on Richton Square’s “Let’s Read” wall.

The day was established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998 to help get kids excited about reading. The day occurs each year on the birthday of beloved children’s book author Dr. Seuss, so a perfect way to celebrate is to wear a Dr. Suess hat and read one of his famous tales, like One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. On National Read Across America Day, students, teachers, parents, and community members around the nation come together to read books and celebrate the joy of reading.
