    First Day of School:

    Monday, August 31, 2020 @ 7:35 a.m.

EXCELLENCE is our expectation.  It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year at O.W. Huth Middle School. We hope the summer months have provided you with some rest, relaxation, and an opportunity to rejuvenate, all while being safe.

Although this school year will look different, the faculty and staff have prepared the school and classrooms for an exciting year of virtual learning and growth.

Student success is the goal of every staff member at Huth Middle School.  We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school.  We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.  As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

    1. Attends school virtually every day and logs into Google classroom on time (no later than 7:35 a.m.), ready for the day’s learning experience
    2. Completes all class and homework assignments given by teachers and submits them to Google classroom
    3. Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
    4. Informs you if he/she needs additional support
    5. Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school

On Monday, August 31, 2020 at 7:35 a.m., students will begin their journey getting to know new teachers and reconnecting with friends.  Although the school year will begin virtually, we are dedicated to providing the best education for your child.  We are looking forward to “seeing” everyone bright and early Monday morning.

    Kindest regards,

    Ms. Brenda L. Calvin, Principal

  • O.W. Huth E-Learning School Closure Information:

    Parents and Students,

We are witnessing a unique period in history where we are all being asked to go about life differently.  Moving forward, our school will continue to operate under an E-Learning format.  Rest assured, we plan on giving every student the opportunity to succeed and continue to make progress.  Use this time to hold ourselves accountable and continue to work toward your goals set for the third quarter.  Use this time to read, learn, and spend time with your loved ones.  Make the best out of this unusual situation and when school eventually re-opens, we'll see how the investment we all made has paid off.  We look forward to all of us being in class again soon.

Huth's teachers have developed E-Learning Plans for all classes, in all contents.  Please visit your teacher's personal Schoolwires page for the most up-to-date E-Learning Plan.  Most of the assignments can be accessed via Google Classroom.   Please follow your teacher's directions for accessing and submitting assignments.  If you do not have online access, packets can be obtained from Huth's main office from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., beginning Wednesday, March 18th.

This is an unprecedented situation and we recognize that you may have more questions.  Please click the link below for Matteson School District #162 School Closure Information.  You may also call Huth's main office at 708-748-0470.

    Take Care and Be safe,

    Huth Administration
