Dr. Stephanie Healy, Principal

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I know this is going to be an amazing year for all of us. I am honored to be your principal for the sixth year.

I would like to introduce myself. I have worked for Matteson School District 162 since 2002 as a teacher at almost every grade level and as assistant principal at O.W. Huth Middle School. I have had the unique opportunity to watch many of the students in our district learn and grow from the time they entered school through college and beyond.

It is my goal to preserve the traditions of the Arcadia Elementary School while moving forward, utilizing the ever-evolving tools modern technology provides educators. I truly believe our children can do anything. It is our job to provide them with the foundation they need to become the scholars and leaders of tomorrow.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with your comments, concerns and/or questions. I look forward to seeing you around the building.

Dr. Akeima Hall, Assistant Principal

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the newly appointed assistant principal of Arcadia Elementary! I am incredibly honored to have been chosen to work alongside Dr. Healy, Mr. Peterson, and Mrs. Ransford to lead the instructional efforts at Arcadia. We are extremely fortunate to serve such a supportive community of dedicated teachers, involved parents, and diverse learners.

I am Dr. Akeima Hall, wife, mother of two sons, one bonus son, one daughter, one bonus daughter, and grandmother of five. I have a cat whose name is Belle and a dog who lives in heaven and her name is Bella. I love to read, write, listen to music, dance, skate, watch horror films, and bowl.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Jackson State University, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Chicago State University, a Master of Art in Elementary Education and a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University.

Although I have been in the classroom for 17 years, I find that I am still growing as an instructional leader. I want to “pay forward” the experiences I had as a teacher to the many innovative teachers I serve in our school. Teachers and students will take risks when they know they are supported through timely feedback, high quality resources, and opportunities for growth. I encourage you to join me in supporting a culture of excellence by actively participating in your child's educational experience. I am eager to get to know each of our scholars and leaders. Throughout this school year I look forward to meeting you and your family here at the Arcadia " Where Excellence is the Expectation"! In addition, please feel welcome to contact me with any praise, concerns, questions, or ideas.

In partnership with you,

Akeima Hall, EdD

Mr. Eric Peterson, Assistant Principal

Destined to change the world one day at a time, I believe in being positive and encouraging in all my interactions. I aspire to bring life and inspiration to people wherever I go, and to whatever I engage in.

Growing up in a hardworking family, I am no stranger to commitment and completing any task given, whether simple or difficult.

I am a graduate of National Louis University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology, a Master’s in Educational Leadership with a type 75 certificate, and a member of the National Education Association. Education has always been important to me and as a catalyst for success.

As an educator, I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, Second, Fourth, and Fifth grade, and worked on numerous school committees such as the School Leadership Committee (Responsible for creating the school’s SIPAAA Report), Positive Behavior Intervention Support Committee (PBIS), Accelerated Reading Committee, Academic Scholars Committee, Performing & Fine Arts Committee, Coordinator of GOAL, and developed a “Future Leaders” Male Mentoring program for Fourth and Fifth grade students.

In addition, I have experience working in Community Engagement and Public Relations, fundraising, developing, and creating programs for a non-for-profit organization, as well as coordinating community events while engaging with people from multicultural backgrounds.

In my spare time, I enjoy participating in cultural and community events, and volunteering with various community outreach ministries.

Being the change that I want to see in the world, I believe that we must walk in our purpose and always give back to others.

Welcome to Arcadia Elementary School, the home of the Scholars and Leaders. This is year number 25 for me! It is my intent that you and your child have a multitude of rewarding experiences while your child is a student here. Working together, there is no limit to what we will accomplish.
