CURRENT TOPIC -Percents is the final lesson to focus on the Ratios and Proportional Relationships domain of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). In Grade 6, students extended their work on equivalent fractions to set up equivalent ratios and find percents. Here, students will set up and solve equations, using a percent as a constant of proportionality. Then, because of the many real-world situations involving percents, four lessons are devoted to taking an in-depth look at interest and sale situations. Percents is the final lesson to focus on the Ratios and Proportional Relationships domain of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). We will be using an online math curriculum called Digits this year. I encourage all families to visit the site and take advantage of all the additional resources available. Remember to give your best effort everyday..."Mistakes are just proof that you are trying."

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to a fantastic school year!
