Ms. Deshonda Daniels-Wright

This is my first year teaching at Southland College Prep. As a native to the area I am SUPER excited about working in this community!!!! Let’s have a FANTASTIC year!

Classes: AP World Studies/Honors and Regular Civics/US History

Mrs. Deshonda Daniels-Wright began her journey in the education field as a Golden Apple Scholarship recipient. She immediately committed herself to supporting the success and advancement of all students.  Her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois (UIUC) prepared her for a rewarding career as a historian and educator.

Mrs. Daniels-Wright has worked with diverse student populations throughout the city of Chicago and the suburbs. Her ability to connect with students, parents, and stakeholders brings value to the educational experiences in her classroom. She brings over 16 years of experience and expertise in the area of curriculum and instruction and educational leadership.  Throughout her career she has served in capacities as a classroom instructor, program coordinator, and department chair.

In addition to her educational background, Mrs. Daniels-Wright serves as a co-founder and board member of a non-for-profit organization. This organization’s primary function is to demonstrate and teach community building within the Chicago-Southland area.  She is most proud of the work and service the organization has done specifically for youth and their families.

Above all, Mrs. Daniels-Wright is spiritually grounded and is exceptionally proud of her family. She enjoys spending time with her children and supporting their dreams.
