One year as an Adjunct Instructor leading college courses in Advertising, Entrepreneurship & International Marketing.

Five years-plus leading high school courses in Video Production & Broadcast Journalism.

Six years-plus as a Webcast Producer/Director.

Coached two Radio Speaking contestants to the 2015 IHSA State Final in Individual Events.

The only full-time instructor credentialed for President Obama's 2012 election night celebration at McCormick Place.

  • Southland junior Juli-Anne Atwood (5th/left) and her classmates met Sister Jean Schmidt at the 2018 Digital Storytelling Workshop hosted at Loyola University's downtown campus in early June.  Atwood was chosen as part of a select group of Chicagoland teens for this intense week of media & journalism training.  And her fellow 703/Broadcast Journalism mates are anxious to see the results of her summer schooling when 1st Semester commences in mid-August!

  • The 2017 Chicago Auto Show

    Not only did our Junior Broadcast Journalists get their first real taste of OTJT during Southland’s first-ever trip to the show Feb. 19, but they also got a bonus - invaluable industry and career tips from ABC7 Anchor/Reporter Rob Elgas.  Our five news teams used their video to produce stories about cars for college graduates, family-friendly vehicles, cars of the future and sports cars.
