Bienvenidos a la clase 2020-21!

I am pleased to be your Spanish teacher this year. I am from Caracas, Venezuela and very proud to share my language and culture with you. I have a Masters in Education, a Masters in Linguistics, a Masters in Spanish and doctoral studies in Spanish. I have more than 30 years of teaching experience. In my country, I taught Sociolinguistics and Psycholinguistics at the Military University of Venezuela. Here in the United States, I have been teaching Spanish as an adjunct instructor at universities and colleges, such as Iowa State University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,  Dominican University, Governors State University, Moraine Valley Community College, Triton College and Elgin Community College to students from different backgrounds, ethnicities and learning styles. 

This is my third year teaching at Southland College Preparatory High School. I love teaching Spanish, and I believe that it is my mission in life not only to help my students to learn Spanish, but also to encourage them to believe in themselves and become successful in life. 

I hope to have a wonderful teaching experience this school year.
