My Name is Bryan Engnell and this is my 6th year working as a Special Education Teacher at Southland College Prep.
I firmly believe that ALL students can learn and ALL students should have the opportunity for higher education.
I started my journey into the field of special education at Illinois State University, and made a decision to come closer to home to earn my bachelor's degree at Trinity Christian College. As a student that struggled heavily with reading and writing, I had to work very hard on my studies, and stay focused on my goals. I strive to instill the same work ethic into each student I come across in my profession. I have seen firsthand how hard work and determination can change a person, and I hope to leave that impression on those that I work with.
Prior to becoming a member of the Southland family I worked at Lockport Township High School. There I worked in the Special education alternative program, and was the assistant coach of the girls water polo team. At Southland, I have been well versed in all curriculum. I have taught classes at the instructional level including Spanish 1, 2, and 3, Algebra, Geometry, US History, Chemistry, and Physics. I also have experience as a co-teacher in nearly all classes offered at Southland. I feel that my versatility in each subject Southland has to offer is highly beneficial for the students that I work with every day.
