Mr. Bill Foster

Bill Foster is the new band director of Illinois School in Matteson District 162.  Prior to that, he spent 3 years on the staff for the Naperville Central High School Marching Redhawks. While he was on the staff, the Marching Redhawks performed successfully in competitions at Illinois State University, the Bands of America Regional Competition in St. Louis, and the Bands of America Regional Competition in Indianapolis. Bill also volunteers his time at Plainfield East High School and Lisle High School by serving on the staff for their marching bands.


Bill is an alto saxophone player, having performed in multiple jazz combos, the North Central College Big Band, the North Central College Wind Symphony, the North Central College Concert Winds, and the Cardinal Athletic Band. He has played performances in Los Angeles, Michigan, and most recently at the A.A. Stagg Bowl in Shanandoah, Texas.


Bill earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music and Secondary Education for North Central College in 2021. He lives in Plainfield and enjoys camping, frisbee golf, and bowling in his free time.
