B.A Elementary Education at Purdue University Minor in Global Studies Specialized in Reading

Miss Hennings

Welcome to fifth grade!

I am Miss Hennings and I will be teaching fifth grade math and science. This will be my second year teaching at Illinois School and I'm so excited to get started! I attended Purdue University and got my B.A. in Elementary Education, specializing in reading instruction and minoring in global studies. When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, running, eating sweets, and watching movie marathons.

It is my goal to create a classroom environment where all students feel safe, comfortable sharing their ideas, asking questions, and be thriving learners overall, in person and online! All students are different and offer so many ideas and perspectives that their peers can benefit from. By making my classroom accepting of one another, I hope that students want to come school and learn something new everyday.

I am a firm believer in keeping a strong, open line of communication between home and school. Please feel free to contact me about anything! Concerns, questions, proud moments, I want to hear it all! You can contact me easiest by email,, calling Illinois School at 708-747-0301 and asking for me, or message on Class Dojo. I will do my best to respond to emails as fast as I can with in 24 hours. Just let me know which communication tool works best for you!
