Hi! My name is Kelly Striker, and I am a sixth grade teacher at Sauk Elementary school. This is my first year at Sauk Elementary and I am beyond thrilled to call it my home away from home. This is also my first year as a sixth grade teacher, and I am thrilled to spend the year with the most resilient sixth grade class around. Sixth graders are independent, self sufficient, and responsible and this year we will foster those skills to become the best learners we can be!

I graduated with my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Benedictine University. In addition to my college exeperience I worked for an Americorps program called City Year where I provided classroom support for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. I love to teach History and reading because through both of these subjects we can learn so much about oursleves. 

I grew up Michigan right by the lake, and love to visit home often! If I could spend every day on the beach with my husband, and my dogs I would be a happy camper. Michigan is so special to me because I visit my mom, and all of my nieces and nephews. I have two dogs named Murphy and Onyx. They are the best travel partners, and love to see new places as much as I do!

This year- whether remote or in person, this year is going to be spectacular. I am confident that sixth grade, and this school year is one to remember! I am looking forward to partnering with parents, and students to make this year the best one yet!
