INDIANA WILDCATS Remote Learning Days
Per Governor Pritzker, all Public and Private Schools will be closed from March 17th - April 30th. As a result, Indiana Wildcats will immediately implement our Remote Learning Days for Indiana School students. Please see the information below. Updates will be posted as they become available.
General Expectations: Starting March 31, 2020, student work will be accessed via Google Classroom and other applications that the students are familiar with using from school as we move more towards an online platform. This information will be communicated via the student's homeroom teacher. A summary of what the students will be working on each day will be featured in a video starring one of your very own Indiana teachers each day so be sure to watch the videos to find out what we are working on. The information can also be found on the grade level tab to the left of this page. Students who indicated to their teacher that they did not have adequate access to internet or technology have been sent a pencil and paper format packet and will have it delivered via our bus company. Additional copies of the paper and pencil packet are available in the front office of Indiana School if needed. Please call the school between the hours of 9 a.m and 2 p.m. to schedule a time to pick up an additional copy. Indiana School teachers will continue to be available to assist students with their work between the hours of 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. during our Remote Learning Days, so ideally students would also be working during that time so they can access their teacher for assistance if needed. Student work on a Remote Learning Day will be aligned to the learning objectives for the unit being taught. Student work will be relevant, meaningful, and manageable for them. At this point in time students are not required to check in for attendance.
Extra Enrichment: Althought we sent home quite a bit of work with our packets that left with our Wildcats, we do realize that some students may complete their work at a faster rate and parents might be looking for some enrichment activities for their Wildcats while at home. We have been busy building a collection of great resources for you to access from home, and will continue to update it as more awesome sites are found. Please take a look at our Extra @ Home Enrichment tab that is found on our Remote Learning page! Check back often for more ideas!
Communication & Support: Our Remote Learning Days are purposely set up as an asynchronous experience to provide flexibility for both the students and the staff. Our program ensures that teachers will be available to assist students with their assignments from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The assignments for the Remote Learning Days are designed to be engaging and sometimes fun and will allow students to learn while enjoying being at home during this time. Teachers will monitor their emails, and/or Google Classroom at various times during the day. The administrators and the technology staff will be available from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on any Remote Learning day.
Questions: This experience is new to all of us.. We expect questions - so please feel free to email us at email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at Indiana School (708) 747-5300.
Thank you for your understanding in this endeavor! Stay safe; we will see you soon.
