Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Glenisha Hatchett
My name is Ms. Glenisha Hatchett and I am teaching 6th and 7th grade math this school year! The math room is located in room 19. This is my first year as a teacher at Illinois School, however, I have been educating students for nine years. I taught four years as a Title I Teacher in parochial schools, providing services for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. As a Title I Teacher, I pulled out students from the general education classroom to reinforce the student’s academic learning in reading and/or math to assist in increasing scores on the standardized test. For the past five years, I taught sixth grade math and science at a Chicago Charter School. There I provided a conducive learning environment for students to grow and excel into model citizens through engaging lessons.
I am highly qualified and certified to teach in Illinois. I earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum Instruction with a focus on math from Concordia University. I am also an alumni from Chicago State University, where I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. In addition to receiving my degree I obtained endorsements in language arts, math, and social science. My goal is to monitor the maturation process of your child over the course of the school year. I am very excited about working with you and your child! I look forward to communicating and working hard to challenge your child to reach their highest academic potential.
