Dear Huth Family,

On behalf of the staff of O.W. Huth Middle School, I am elated to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. It is an honor and a privilege to lead a school that is part of a district with such a rich tradition of excellence that has produced so many outstanding students.

As we prepare to embark on another year, I am reminded that the start of school is a exceptional time to activate or renew our partnership to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential. As we collectively foster a culture of learning that focuses on Common Core skills, data driven instruction, and exciting/enriching challenges for all students, we invite you to become an active participant in our school community through joining our PTO, volunteering, and attending/supporting our school events.

If you have any questions or concern that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to give your child’s teacher or our administrative staff a call. We thank you for your support and look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family.

See you around the building!

Ms. Calvin

Hello Huth Family!

I'm excited to start the 2020-2021 school year!  This is my third year at Huth Middle School as Assistant Prncipal.  I have a Master's of Arts in Education with a concentration in Principal Leadership.  I have taught in District 162 School District for over 12 years.  This is going to be a unprecedented year as we provide a quality education amidst a global pandemic.  We've worked hard at Huth preparing the building for our students' return.  It is my hope to develop new relationships with parents, students and the Huth community.  Remember, Excellence is the Expectation this school year and we're looking for our students to rise to the occasion. Our goal is to make things happen Online...one Knight at a time.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year!

GO KNIGHTS!

Greetings! I am extremely excited for opporunity to work with you!

I was raised in the Southwest Suburbs, but began my professional career in Las Vegas, Nevada. I worked there for 8 years, primarily teaching middle school US History, but also World Geography, Fundamentals of Writing, and various vocabulary acquisition programs. My journey in educational leadership began  when I was recognized for my integration of technology into my curriculum and was asked to help facilitate training the more than 600 social studies teachers in the district. During that time, I met and married my wife and partner whom is also a teacher within Matteson School District 162.  We made the decision to move back to the Chicagoland area after our first child was born.

My undergraduate education began at the University of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio where I earned a BA in History and a BS in Secondary Education. I later earned a Masters Degree with additional accreditation in Technology in the Classroom from Southern Utah University, in Cedar City, Utah. Most recently, I completed a Masters of Educational Leadership from Governor's State University in University Park, Illinois.

I believe my primary responsibility is raising my two sons and being a responsible, accountable, supportive and loving father and husband.  I am also driven and motivated in a career that I am passionate about.  When time allows,  I am an avid fisherman and sports fan; and I love staying active in pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. I believe in constant improvement and never losing the lesson in the loss.

I can not wait to hear from you and continue to bolster the connections between home, school, and child!

Greetings!

This school year starts my 32nd year working for District 162.  I started at Matteson Elementary School as a Lunchroom Supervisor, then added Health Clerk and Crossing Guard to my duties.  Currently in my 17th year at Huth, I serve as the Student Services Assistant. I handle activity buses, health physicals, and so much more!

I love working with students and all of the challenges that come with 11-13 year olds!  They are a wonderful group of students!  I also enjoy talking with their parents and helping with any questions or concerns they may have.  I look forward to an exciting school year at O. W. Huth Middle School!
