Mrs. Heather Sorfleet

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Heather Sorfleet and I am excited to join Richton Square this year.  This will be my 4thyear teaching although I have been involved in the Early Childhood classroom since my children were toddlers!  During this time I completed my BA in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education Concentration from Kendall College, Chicago.  I also have my AMS Infant Toddler Certification from Seton Montessori Institute, Clarendon Hills, IL.

Our year will be exciting and full of hands-on learning. I am very fortunate to have Mrs. Fox as our Paraprofessional.  Together, we look forward to providing a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn and grow.

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning.  But for children, play is serious learning.” – Mr. Rogers

I am married to my husband Steve and we have two daughters, Kelly and Rachel.  We adopted Biscuit, our 2 year-old redbone coonhound mix, from the shelter after we saw him on Andy Avalos’ adopt a pet!  He keeps us entertained and you will hear quite a lot about Biscuit’s antics.  Biscuit loves car rides to Michigan where he likes to chase rabbits.
