• Greeting everybody.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Ian Holst and I am the gifted math teacher here at Illinois school.  I am entering my third year in the district and seventh year of teaching.  Before joining the Illinois family I was a teacher in the South Holland school district teaching math to various grade levels.  I was a high school tutor during my time in South Holland teaching Act/Sat prep sessions for Juniors and Seniors.  I came to teaching after spending many years in the private sector as a consulting manager for several businesses throughout the south suburbs and then received my teaching degree from Governors State University.   I was born in a small Ohio town, spent my grade school years in Milwaukee, and moved to Park Forest as an eigth grader.  After attending Marquette University, I returned to Park Forest where I spent many more years as part of the community. I am happily married with 2 children. Augie just turned 2 and my daughter Amelia is 10 months old. I look forward to working with you and your children as we strive to build the necessary mathematical skills to help ensure a rewarding and prductive future. Go Wolves!
