Degrees and Certifications:
Our new year is here and I would like to take this opportunity to say “Hello,” and introduce myself. My name is Janet Landingham and I teach third grade with an emphasis on reading. I was raised and continue to live in the south suburban area of Chicago. My family includes my husband Ranard and three-year-old daughter Selah. I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education with a middle school endorsement from Governors State University. This is my first year at Matteson Elementary School. Previously to my time at Matteson School, I taught second grade at Nathan Hale Elementary School in Crestwood, IL for six years. I also worked as a paraprofessional in a third through fifth grades ED/BD special education classroom and as a site director for the Champions before & afterschool program. Doing those jobs over 12 years allowed me to develop a passion for working with children and motivated me to pursue a career in teaching. Some of my interests include, traveling, reading, karaoke and working with children. I am looking forward to an awesome year getting to know you and your child better. Working as a team, the parents, students, teachers, and administrators will make this year a super year for learning!
