ARCADIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: HOME OF THE SCHOLARS & LEADERS
A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL
WHERE EXCELLENCE IS THE EXPECTATION!
This Week at Arcadia
Join us for the Artistic Breezes Art Show Reception on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 7-8 p.m. at Matteson Public Library.
Your artist's work will be on display that evening for the opening reception of the show and our young artists will receive certificates highlighting their creative accomplishments. We hope to see you there!
We will begin our third STAR 360 Benchmark Tests for grades K-4 on January 27, 2020. Renaissance Learning – STAR 360 is a computer-adaptive assessment system for Reading and Mathematics for the 2019-2020 school year.
While your student cannot study for a standardized assessment like they would for a regular classroom assessment, there are ways you can help prepare at home:
- Make sure your student gets plenty of rest each night.
- Make sure your student eats a healthy and hearty breakfast each morning.
- Remind your student of his/her strengths, and that he/she is strong, persistent, and capable of achieving his/her goals each and every day.
- Remind your student to take his/her time, listen to and read all directions, and tackle one question at a time.
- Make sure your student arrives on time to school.
Thank you for your help at home!
Arcadia School Fourth Graders will join Matteson School District 162 and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in the eighth statewide survey of school climate and learning conditions. The survey, called the 5Essentials Survey, provides a unique opportunity for fourth grade students to have a voice in improving their schools in terms of five “essential” components: effective leadership, collaborative teachers, involved families, supportive environment, and ambitious instruction.
Before the weather outside becomes so frightful that Dr. Davis must call an eLearning Day, click on the link above so that you can prepare for an experience that is delightful! To see our eLearning tasks, please find the "Quick Link" labeled eLearning Day.
