Audra M. Akins-Muhammad

Audra M. Akins-Muhammad is a native Chicagoan and south sider.  She has a keen love of learning and believes in lifelong learning.  She is a wife, daughter, and aunt.  Attending Tuskegee University and Chicago State University for undergraduate school Mrs. Muhammad graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology. Mrs. Muhammad holds a Masters in Training and Development  with a certification in Instructional Technology from Roosevelt University. Additionally, she is certified as a Lean-Six Sigma Green Belt among many certifications she is proud to be a Deliberative Dialogue Moderator trained by The National Issues Forum.  


Mrs. Muhammad is currently pursuing a Masters in Elementary Education at Roosevelt University.  She has completed doctoral level work in Educational Technology from Northern Illinois University.  Mrs. Muhammad began working at Illinois School as a Cadre Substitute teaching Technology in October, 2022.  This is her first year as a 2nd Grade teacher.  Mrs. Muhammad has worked in Community Mental Health, Community Health Education, Elementary Education, Non-Profit Management in child advocacy and learning and development.  Collectively, Mrs. Muhammad holds over 20 years in education and training with 8 years of concentrated education in elementary.  She is happy to serve as an educator at Illinois School.
