Matteson School District #162 is committed to providing quality instruction throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The district plan includes an additional option of hybrid in-person instruction. Students who chose the hybrid in-person schedule attend school in-person two days per week and remotely three days per week. The district’s plan also allows students who do not feel comfortable returning to in-person learning to continue learning via remote instruction for all five days each week. Parents who chose the in-person hybrid learning plan can change their selection to remote learning only at any time by contacting their child's Principal.

On October 28, 2020 District #162 made the decision to put the hybrid in-person learning plan on pause. The District will not bring students into the school buildings for classes at this time due to the rising COVID-19 positivity rate and hospitalizations in Region 10.

The in-person hybrid learning model will resume, for those who chose that model, when the Region 10 health metrics provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health are more favorable.
