• Student Online Learning Norms & Expectations

     

    The e-learning setting is obviously something new for parents, students, and educators. As we move forward there were be certain expectations and procedures that the students will be expected to follow. These will be modeled and practiced at the beginning of the year and as we go further along as needed. Above all, know that I am a resource for both you and your child. Please contact me at any time with questions or concerns, I very much value being here to ease any uncertainties you may have.

     

    -Students will use Google Classroom to work and communicate with teachers. Likewise, I will be communicating with students via Google Classroom. Students are expected to comment on the Classroom Stream with any questions they may have. Teachers do not have the ability to email students. All communication with students must be done via Google Classroom.

    -All assignments will be posted and organized on Google Classroom.

    -Students are expected to be on time and attend virtual class each and every day. Attendance will be taken every day.

    -Students will create a workplace that is free from distractions.

    -Students will sit on a seat that is on camera in order for the teacher to see you at all times.

    -Students will dress appropriately for virtual class each and every day.

    -Students will stay muted until prompted by the teacher to unmute. Students will not speak while the teacher is speaking and will only speak when prompted by the teacher.

    -Students will be an active participant in all of their online classes.

    -Students will not eat or drink during online class. Students may eat or drink during their designated lunch time.

    -Students will be professional and respectful at all times in the Google Meet classroom. Virtual school follows the same expectations as in-person school.

    -Students should notify school personnel of any technical issues immediately.

    -Do not record video, audio, photographs, live streams, or transmit in any other way any part of a Google Meet, including posts to social media platforms.

    -Students are not allowed to use their cell phones during virtual class.

    -Parents/guardians should not engage with students during Google Meet classes. If parents/guardians need to speak with a child during a Google Meet, first mute your child's microphone.

    -If a parent/guardian has a question, please email your child's teacher.

    -Parents/guardians should email your child's principal with any questions or concerns regarding privacy or virtual classroom expectations.

    -Login credentials must not be shared. Sharing of login information violates other students' and teachers' rights to confidentiality, and could allow class participation by unauthorized persons and/or lead to disruptive behaviors that detract from a productive and positive learning environment.
