• The most important thing that you can do to help your child become a fluent reader is to read every single day! I end every day reading with my boys before bed. This is a great routine to start with your kids. My oldest son practices his own reading before dinner and night time is a time for him to enjoy hearing a story. Creating opportunities for your child to be both an active reader and an active listener will help their reading fluency, word recognition, reading comprehension and general love for reading!

First grade families, please sign your child's reading calendar every day. This will provide communication between home and school and give me an insight to your reading routines at home. Please check their Doc-It daily for their new Baggie Books and fluency sheets.

Kindergarten students will recieve their Baggie Books from their classroom teachers.
