We are pleased to inform you that Matteson School District 162 has implemented a new option available to Arcadia, Indiana, Illinois, Matteson, Sauk, Richton Square and Huth Middle Schools, which participate in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the current school year. Matteson School District 162 Schools, serve a balanced and nutritious breakfast and lunch that meet all USDA nutritional requirements. 

Monthly menus from our vendor, 'Quest' are available online at https://www.fdmealplanner.com. Also provided are Nutritional and Allergen information for each component of the meal for each month.

 Steps for Handling a Food Service Civil Rights Complaint

 If a parent or guardian calls or comes to any of the school offices with a civil rights complaint, the Director of Food Services has all the necessary Civil Rights complaint forms provided by the  USDA.   The Administrator in charge will contact the parent and gather all needed information from the parent or guardian and will determine what the next step will be.  If a formal complaint needs to be made to the USDA, the Administrator in Charge of that case will be available help the parent or guardian fill out the Civil Rights Complaint form and submit them to the USDA.  USDA, Director, Office of Adjudication, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C. 20250-9410 or call toll free (866) 632-9992 (Voice).  Individuals who are hearing impaired or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339; or (800) 845-6136 (Spanish).

Civil Rights training is provided to all food service staff and information regarding compliance can be found on this website. 

During Summer School all students who attend summer school in Matteson School District 162 and Southland College Prep Charter High School will be provided a nutritious breakfast that  meets the USDA and National School Program requirements. In addition, the community is invited to have breakfast at each Summer School Site. This nutritious breakfast is provided to all children from 18 years of age and younger, free of charge.
