Illinois School re-opended in 2000 as a Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth grade building that enrolled students throughout Matteson Elementary School District 162 by a lottery selection process.  With an emphasis on best practices in education, Illinois School eventually grew to include grades sixth through eighth.

Built on the premise of active home and community volunteerism, Illinois School continues to strive for full parental participation.  Under the vision of Dr. Blondean Davis, Illinois School added a primary wing, beautiful library and commons, and a Technology Lab. Today, Illinois School continues its rich history of academic excellence and parental volunteerism to make us the premier elementary school in the south suburbs.
