     Class Dojo:

We will be using Class Dojo as a means of keeping track of students' positive behavior choices, as well as when they sometimes choose not to follow our Essential Agreement. You will have access to your child's account to see how they are improving an a daily basis. This will also be the fastest and easiest way for you to get ahold of me if you download it onto you mobile device. I will be sending invites electronically as well as a paper invite on the first day of school.

     Homework:

My stance on homework: I believe that homework is important to success in school.  The homework I assign is always an extension of what we learn/do in the classroom, and never just busy work.  For that reason, we take HW completion seriously in room 20. Students will receive 35-40 minutes of HW each night plus additional choice book reading time.  This means working diligently, without interruptions or breaks for TV and games. It is helpful to find a quiet place to work where kids will not be distracted by the TV or other siblings if possible. Students who complete all assignments each night will get a plus in their agendas and will then be rewarded with class points, team points, and dojo points. Students who do not get their HW done will have points deducted from their dojo. I will post the HW on dojo daily so that parents and students know what needs to be done. If the students have questions they can contact me on dojo. My promise to you is that I will not give waste of time busy work, and I will be available to answer questions and provide assistance.

    Thank you for your support,

    Mrs. C.
