Mrs. Abbey Chandler

Hello and Welcome!  I hope this website is used as a means of communication for my parents and students. I also hope this website will serve as a resource to enrich, extend, and encourage the learning that takes place in our classroom into your homes.  Please know my door is always open to address any questions or concerns.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

I graduated from Slippery Rock University (Pittsburgh) with a B.A. in Elementary Education. I earned a Master of Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV, and an additional accreditation in technology in the Classroom from SUU. I taught fifth grade for eight years and fourth grade for three at Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is my 16th year of teaching and my 5th year teaching here in Illinios.

My Home

I got married in 2011 to my husband, Scott, who is an administrator at Huth Middle School. We have a 6 year old son Dylan and a 4 year old son Landon. We also have two dogs, Rocky and Jackson, and a cat named Fremont. For fun our family loves going to museums, splash pads, and local parks. We enjoy spending our energies as actively and healthy as possible, hiking the local trails, going on canoe trips, playing sports, working out, and camping.
