E-LEARN INSTRUCTIONS- Updated April 27, 2020

Parents and students,

I realize that we are in still in unprecedented times, operating as a school under a remote format during this worldwide pandemic. Rest assured, I plan on giving every student the opportunity to succeed and make progress as social studies learners. Below are some key points to keep in mind during this process.

-All assignments will be issued via Google Classroom. Work will be monitored on a daily basis to gauge the progress that students are making. All students should be logged into their respective classroom. I will be posting the assignments to google classroom one week at a time. For the week of 5-4-20 thru 5-8-20 I will post on Sunday May 3, 2020. If there are any questions, please use remind app or make a private comment on an assignment so I can communicate easier with you.

-Students without internet access will be given hard copies of the assignments. Hard copies may also be picked up from Huth while on the e-learning schedule. The hard copy and Google Classroom assignments are identical.

-I will be available each day during the e-learning schedule from 9 am - 2 pm to answer questions and assist students. I can be contacted via email (mrogalski@sd162.org), via Google Classroom (by commenting on the assignment for that day), or via Remind

-I understand that these are unprecedented times. Students may be responsible at home for watching siblings or relatives, households with multiple students may need to share technology resources, or other things related to the school closures may come up. If any issues arise that I can accomodate, please reach out at any point. This process works best with open lines of dialogue between home and teacher, and I am more than happy to assist with anything I can.

Hello and welcome to school year 2019/2020. My name is Mr. Rogalski and I teach 7th and 8th grade Social Studies on Team Red.  This is my 21st year at O.W. Huth Middle School. In the spring, all students at Huth will participate in the History Fair.  7th grade students will be required to take the Illinois and U.S. Constitution. You will receive more information about both of these as the year progresses.  I am looking forward to having an incredible school year. Your child should have brought home the first week of school a syllabus with important information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 748-0470, ext. 2803 or by e-mail at mrogalski@sd162.org

January 6, 2020: 7th grade students will be starting the U.S. Constitution and Illinois Constitution. They will be getting information from our textbooks and other resources and will be required to take notes to prepare for the assessments.
