Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics (Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL) Teacher Certification for High School Mathematics (Governors State University, University Park, IL) LBS1 Certification for Special Education (Governors State University, University Park, IL)
The 2019-2020 school year is my 9th year teaching mathematics at Southland. Though I've primarily worked with freshmen and sophomores in Algebra 1 and Geometry, I've also assisted students and teachers with content from Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Algebra 3, Precalculus, Calculus, Chemisty, Physics, ACT/SAT, and special education. Additionally, I am the faculty sponsor of Southland's Anime Club (assisted by Ms. Dennis and Mr. Williams), which meets every Friday evening.
I studied Applied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, and after graduation I continued coursework at Governors State University in University Park to receive certification in mathematics education. In the summer of 2015, I encouraged an exploration of science through my work with guests at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. In the 2018-2019 school year, I took additional classes at Governors State University to receive a special education LBS1 endorsement.
Ever since my childhood, I have enjoyed science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and space technologies. It is my hope that I can share my excitement for these fields to inspire a new generation of scientists and mathematicians.
