Ms. Stephanie Drozd

Hello, and welcome to Ms. D's classroom page! I am excited to start my first year here with Southland as a Fine Arts teacher and to get to know all of the students. I teach two periods of Speech and Drama, two periods of Advanced Theatre, and one period of Theatre 2 and 3. I will also be one of the new assistant coaches for Southland’s award winning Forensics Team. This year I hope to share my excitement for performing arts with the students and to help them become excellent readers, performers, and critical thinkers.

My educational background includes two B.A.s in secondary education from Eastern Illinois University, one in Theatre Arts and one in English Language Arts, and an M.S. in Theatre Studies from Illinois State University. I did my student teaching at Lake Park High School in Roselle, Illinois and have six years of experience as a substitute teacher, tutor, and teaching assistant in various locations such as Naperville, Aurora, Peoria, Bartonville, and Bloomington, Illinois.

Let’s have a great school year and learn together!
